How do doctors learn the proper use of the stethoscope to hear cardiac heart sounds? Why is this the “tip of the iceberg?” Would you prefer a “diagnostic test” over a “physical exam” for determining whether or not you had some form of heart disease?

After reading the Introduction-
Doctors are the mostly highly trained professionals in the world and still make diagnostic errors. If you were the parent/spouse of Crystal Lessing, what would you do to ensure doctors made the correct diagnosis and course of treatment? Or do you just trust the process and allow doctors to occasionally make mistakes?
